His ability to take current and political ideas and infuse them into neo-expressionism, make his art infamous, with the likes of Andy Warhol, who was also a good friend, collaborator and mentor of his. Jean's movie, Downtown 81, shows the story of his life, living as a starving artist during the late 70's and early 80's. The movie itself is shot in avante-garde and it's narrated by Jean Michel. He inspires me so much! I only wish he were still alive, today.
