Music Video: Red Hot Chili Peppers - The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie

After five long years the Red Hot Chili Peppers have returned, with their new guitarist Josh Klinghoffer and their original sound back intact. Their first single "The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie" off their new album, I'm With You, set to release August 30th in the US, reminds me of a lot of their past work from Mother's Milk to Blood Sugar, but with a twist. Anthony Keidis said,

"there is no question – this is a beginning".

There's no question that performing on a rooftop (emulating the Beatles) on Santa Monica Boulevard is the perfect insertion for the band, back into the music world. Have a listen, tell me what you think.

News: Pharrell's $35M Afterschool Space For Kids

pharrell after school
The Pharrell Williams Research Center in Virginia Beach has to be one of the most innovative and brilliant ideas of 2011. Pharrell Williams has teamed up with Oppenheim Architecture + Design to create an afterschool center in Pharrell's hometown, keen on helping kids with their studies and propelling their creativity, in order to devolop young entrepreneurs of tomorrow. Pharrell and Oppenheim met at Art Basel in 2008, with a similar vision: they wanted to make the world a better place. The young entrepreneur explains:

"I believe the architecture of a building says a lot about its soul and I wanted a building for the center that makes a statement to the world and the kids, something that will stand as a monument of optimism, and felt Chad was the only architect that could capture that. We want the building to look like something out of the future, so it will inspire the kids in it to aspire to greater things."

Look forward to hearing more about this project in the future. The Pharrell Williams Research Center is projected for completion in 2013.

Tattoos: My Latest Tattoo Idea

mac miller
I've been thinking long and hard about whether or not another tattoo is requisite in my life and I've decided that deep down in my heart, I know it's right. To me, that's all that matters. What have I been considering? What will be on my arm forever? Well, there's a reason why Mac Miller is in this post with his "chai" tattoo, because for the longest time I've wanted a Jewish Star tattooed on my arm. Frankly, I'm not very religious, but my Judaism is a part of me that I can't ever seem let go of, even if I tried and in many ways, I still feel deeply rooted in its history and moral values. That's why I've decided to continue my sleeve with the Star of David. What do you guys think?
